Before we went out and received testing from other applicants we wanted to test it ourselves and make sure it was up to the standard we needed. We tested it and during this test we concluded the strap need to be tighter and so this being our prototype we stitched it tighter, because we weren't worried about aesthetic. Then after stitching it tighter we concluded it was ready to test with willing applicants.
Testing questions
We asked a series of questions of each of our runners, and head shakers: 1. How was the first run compared to the second run? (we did one test without and another test with attachment) 2. On a scale from 1 to 5 how effective was the attachment? 3. Was there any slipping or falling with the attachment on? 4. Was the attachment comfortable? 5. On a scale from 1 to 5 would you buy this product?
Test 1
Our test one was our running test. In this test we received three runners. Our first runner said that the first run was terrible and the second run was more secure. Runner one said that it was 4 out of a 5 scale effective and it didn't slip or fall while running. Then runner one said that it was effective and said he would buy on a scale of 3 because "he doesn't buy stuff" Second runner said the first run was shaky and the second was smooth and tight. Runner said 5 out of 5 the attachment was effective. Runner said that there was no falling or slipping, and that it felt like a warm pillow when wearing. Then the runner would buy the attachment on a scale of 4 out of 5. The third runner said that the first run the headphones were loose and that the second one they stayed on and secure. The runner thought the attachment effective on a 5 out of 5. That there was no falling or slipping and that it was very comfortable. Then that they would buy it on a scale of 5 out 5.
Test 2
We tested five head shakers because we wanted accurate data being a more accurate test. First head shaker said the first time it fell off easily and the second one stayed on my head. They said it was effective on a scale of 5 out of 5. They said there was no slipping or falling and that it was comfortable. They said they would buy this product on a scale of 5 out of 5. Second head shaker said the second shake stayed on better and that it was effective on a 5 out of 5. They said there was no slipping or falling and that it was a 4.8 out of 5 for comfort because they could still feel it there. Then on a scale of they would buy it 4 out of 5. Third head shaker said the first second shake was terrible and the second one was great. The effectiveness was a 4 out of 5, there was no slipping or falling, and it was comfortable. They would buy it 5 out of 5. Fourth head shaker said the first shake was bad and the second was given a thumbs up. The effectiveness was a 5 out of 5, there was no slipping or falling, and yes it was comfortable. They would buy it 4 out of 5. The fifth head shaker said the comparison was that the second was better. The effectiveness was a 4 out of 5, there was some slipping but hair got in the way, and that it was comfortable. They would buy it 4 out of 5.
Adjustments
We made adjustments before collecting this data, but from this data we concluded that there was no adjustments needed and that there such a great outcome from the results. These results showed us what was working and the attachment was working for what we wanted. We wanted comfort and stability for our users, and everyone said there was no slipping or falling and that it was comfortable.
Review
From our mentor, we were told that the simplest solutions are the best ones, and she was extremely impressed with the outcome. She wasn't sure how our design was going to turnout, however we were able to check off the boxes she laid down for us before as it came to creating an effective product. She also said that this product was great for the market, and that she thinks it would be able to sell well from a business perspective. The only true critique we received about our product was the security of the headphones during backward movement, however even though the product is as effective, it still prevents the movement of the headphones every other time. She said that this was a minor inconvenience that could easily be fixed in the future when furthering the product. Overall, our mentor's review on our product was a very positive one, and she approved of the simple, yet effectiveness of the product.
